SluggerFest 16U |
|
Looking forward to the chance to improve
on their 2005 16U SluggerFest showing, the Sluggers entered the
tournament with anticipation and excitement. After all, "SluggerFest"
is one of the top tournaments in our area and this year it featured
48 teams from Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, West Virginia and
Pennsylvania.
After the dust settled, the Sluggers came away with an "Elite Eight"
finish after loosing twice to the Ohio Ice "Black" team in the
finals of the East division. The Sluggers had defeated the Ice on
Saturday 1-0, sending the Ice to the losers bracket from which they
rebounded to advanced to the Final Four.
Overall, the Sluggers played strong and finished with a 6-2 record
in the tournament.
